Hello!

I'm Evelyn. I'm 22 years old, I'm married to a stud muffin and we have 2 awesome little boys, and I LOVE to craft. Like, a lot. It's a little less like I "enjoy it" and more like I'm "addicted to it". I've enjoyed making things since I first started sewing when I was about 12. I didn't really sew all that often, because I gave up whenever it got too hard. I remember when I first used a pattern, I ended up tearing the pattern and instead of taping it back together like a normal person, I burst into tears and gave up.

I have since learned a lot. I'm still pretty shaky at sewing, but I can usually make something look good on the outside, even if it's a disaster on the inside. I also crochet, hand sew, and embroider, and I am always adding new crafts to the list.

Why do I craft?

I have the tendency to get extremely stressed out sometimes. To the point that I can't really function in the real world. I have been able to work around it, thanks to having kids (can't really take a day off), but it still gets really hard sometimes. But crafting numbs that. If I'm freaking out and feeling like the whole world is crashing around me, all I have to do is pick up a crochet hook and get to work on something for my kids or a decoration for our home and I feel way more okay with the world.

Crafting is my sanctuary. It's my alone time. It's my way of serving others. It's my way of staying busy when I'm sick or watching TV. I love the smiles I get when I give someone a handmade gift. I love the surprise and the "oh my gosh, you made this?" comments. I love being able to look at a cute dress or hat in the store and saying to myself, "I can make that." Crafting builds my self confidence and makes me feel accomplished.

Now, about Pinterest . . . 

I got into crafts a LOT more when I discovered Pinterest. Like most moms and 50+ year old women, I have a lot of food and DIY boards. Like, way too many to be proud of. But I swear by Pinterest. If I have a question or need inspiration for my next DIY or fashion project, I go straight to Pinterest. If I don't know what to do for dinner or we're running low on freezer meals, I will run straight to Pinterest and come out with a delicious, hubby-approved copycat meal from Olive Garden. It's gotten to the point where my husband will 100% defend me if someone makes fun of me for my Pinterest use.

One day I will be working for them, I swear. I feel like a Pinterest expert, I truly do.

Tl;dr

I am a 22 year old crafting wife and mom, who crafts as an escape and clings to Pinterest like a lifeline. I need crafting because it inspires me to be a better person and I need to give YOU crafting, because I want the same joy, love and charity to fill your life. <3
